We are born in this world for a purpose. At-least that is what they say. What could be the purpose of our life?? Excelling in studies? Getting married? Having Children? Living upto the expectation of others who are around us?? Becoming a Scientist? Getting a Nobel Prize? Play like A Rockstar Musician? Not sure….

Purpose of Human Life…

This is one question which we try to answer all through our life.

But is it really necessary to connect each of these to the purpose of our existence? Let us take a step back and look at the history of life on our planet. Right from the time when the first organism formed to till now, there has been millions and millions of species that has co-existed all through the journey of this earth. The purpose of every single organism was to facilitate the survival of every other organism in one way or the other. Human beings are the only species who have moved away from being a part of this whole plan and created our own world where only we exist and every thing else doesn’t matter. Is this sustainable?? That is a definite no.. Still we continue to do this mindlessly. Why?

Because we have created an illusion of a safe and secure world where the purposes we have defined based on our culture only matters. The purpose which has no value, Either to us or to anyone around us. How do I say that this has no value? We feel proud of our achievements. We strive to achieve more and more. We are very well advanced in technology that anything is possible today. What we don’t realise is that we still live in a very delicate world which can change any second now without any warnings at all. When that happens, the purposes we defined will be of no use to us. Whether you are the president of a nation, or you are the poorest of the poor of any country, it will make no difference. The notion of showcasing your superiority over the other based on the purposes you defined and achieved will not support you in anything nor will give you any peace.

What can we do about it? It is very simple.

Instead of defining our purposes and running behind them. If we can sit, relax and take our steps slowly, experience life as it comes, stay close to nature, build more memories, learn things which keeps us happy, not judge and give others their own space, respect others for who they are and not be materialistic, I think we will have a very peaceful life. Believe me, it is CONTAGIOUS!!! We are the only race who are mature, sensible and have been gifted with the wonderful senses with which we can control the whole world. With this power in our hands, if we decide to live smart and happily, our presence in this world and the things which we have achieved will be etched in this world forever. That is what i call the PURPOSE of our lives!! To be happy, To keep others happy and not to get carried away with the restless world we are living in today.
